Pricing for Services

The following pricing structure should be used as a guideline.  Exact price may vary depending on the complexity of your project.  We encourage you to schedule an appointment and ask questions to explore the variables that can affect the final price of your project.

Pricing Structure for Quilting Designs

Edge to edge or point to point or pantograph designs are the most cost effective quilting design.  Examples of those types of designs can be found HERE.  These are but a small sampling of what we can do, but are depicted to give you an idea of the possibilities.  The cost of these designs begin at 2 cents per square inch and range up to 3 cents per square inch.  The variable in cost is based on the density of the quilting pattern.  The denser the pattern, the more time it takes and more thread is used.

Custom quilting which uses a variety of patterns on the quilt, quilt motifs and includes one or more borders begin at 3.0 cents per square inch.
Again we have a variety of patterns and designs to choose from.

To determine the the total number of square inches, measure the length and width of the quilt in inches and then multiply those numbers and you will get the number of square inches.

There is a $40 minimum charge.

To determine the perimeter add together the outside dimensions of the quilt top, the top and bottom widths, and the left and right side outside dimensions and add 10 inches for closure (to allow for mitering of the binding).

Pricing for Whole Cloth Services

Whole Cloth quilt designs can vary greatly in price ranges depending on how you want the top to look.

It is possible to create a whole cloth quilt utilizing one fabric top and then placing an overall quilting design on the fabric (i.e. PANTO) from edge to edge. Normally you would also bind the quilt with the same fabric. If this is what you choose, we would only charge you the PANTO rate of 2 cents per inch.

Custom whole cloth quilts which would include a number of different designs, shapes, and/or textures would begin at our custom price of 3 cents per inch.

Pricing for Piecing

PIECING CATEGORIES -

Piecing designs begins at $15 per hour and would include cutting the fabric, sewing together strips sets and/or creating the blocks, laying out and then constructing all the blocks into a quilt top, blocking and squaring the quilt, adding one or more borders.  Examples of design ideas that fit this pricing category would be quick strip construction - i.e. overall 9-patch, irish chain designs; combination of 4-patch blocks and solid blocks; or easy log cabin designs. Normally these quilts may only require 1-6 fabrics in varying colors.

Piecing designs begins at $23 per hour for very complex designs like a double wedding ring quilt, and include multiples of fabric colors that create a cohesive color scheme throughout the quilt (6-10 different colors). These designs may also require paper piecing and pieced borders. Would include cutting the fabric, sewing together the blocks, laying out and constructing all the blocks, blocking and squaring the quilt, adding one or more pieced borders.

Pricing for T Shirt Quilts

"T" Shirt quilts are a great way to preserve memories.  You can generally get a 16 inch square from one "T" shirt.  The "T" shirt material must be stabilized with a fusible stabilizer prior to assembly as a quilt.  This prevents the material from getting too stretchy.  A 9 block quilt makes a nice throw quilt.  More "T" shirts makes a bigger quilt.  We charge $25.00 a block/shirt to make a "T" shirt quilt.  That includes, cutting the "T" shirt, stabilizing it, sewing the blocks together with sashing or without, supplying a good quilting quality100% cotton backing material,  using a quilt quality 80% cotton 20% polyester batting, quilting the quilt and applying a binding to the quilt.

We also will just do the quilting on a "T" shirt quilt that you have designed and pieced.  The overall quilting design that we do on "T" shirt quilt is one and half cents per square inch.  Contact us, we would like to discuss how we can be a part of preserving your memories.

Thread Charges

We do have a $12 minimum thread charge. This normally covers both the top threads and bobbins. If you have a very dense quilting design or a lot of custom work that uses many bobbins, an additional thread charge to cover whatever is used will be added.
